# android, early access
Peeryn for Android.
A test build, ahead of the Play Store. It is the real app signed by us, so Android will ask once whether Chrome may install apps. Thank you for trying it.
Version 1.0, build 1. Android 9 or newer.
Installing
- Tap the download above. Chrome will warn that this type of file can harm your device; that is its standard notice for any app installed outside the Play Store. Tap Download anyway.
- Open the downloaded file. The first time, Android sends you to a setting to allow Chrome to install unknown apps. Turn it on and come back.
- Tap Install, then Open.
- Sign in with your email. The link we send opens in your browser; if it does not hand you back to the app, copy the link and paste it into the app.
What to try
- Add a city and tap Use on this phone, then Connect. Android will ask you to allow the VPN connection once.
- The city card tells you where your internet is coming out. Check it matches.
- Switch to another city. Kill the app and see whether the connection holds.
- Sign out, and check the phone disappears from your devices on the web.
Two things to know
Plans cannot be bought inside this build. Buying happens through Google Play, and that needs the Play Store copy of the app, which is coming. If your account already has a plan, everything works.
When the Play Store version arrives you will need to uninstall this one first. Play signs the app with a different key, and Android will not update across the two.
Telling us what you found
Anything that confused you counts as much as anything that broke. Write to hello@peeryn.com with your phone model and what you expected to happen.
