Privacy Policy
Last updated 11 September 2026.
Peeryn is operated by Carrier Grade Inc., 2665 S Bayshore Dr, Miami, FL 33133, United States. This page describes what we hold about you, why, who else handles it, and how long it stays. It is written to be checked rather than admired: everything below describes how the service is actually built.
1. What you give us to open an account
An email address. We do not ask for your name, your address, a phone number, or an identity document. If you use Sign in with Apple, Apple gives us a stable identifier for your Apple sign-in and, when Apple supplies it, your email address or an Apple private-relay address. The app does not request your name from Apple. If you use Sign in with Google on Android, Google gives us a stable identifier for your Google sign-in and your email address. The app does not request your name from Google.
You sign in with a link sent to that address, or a six-digit code in the same message, or with a passkey if you set one up. A passkey stores a public key with us; the part that proves it is yours never leaves your device.
2. What we hold because the service needs it
- Your email address, to sign you in and to write to you about your account.
- A public key and a private address for each device you connect, plus whatever name you gave that device. A VPN cannot route to a device it has no key for; this is the service, not a record of it.
- Which servers you have access to, your device allowance, and whether your subscription is active, in trial, overdue or ended.
- How much data each device moved, a total in and out, a total for the current month, and when it last connected. Numbers only. We take these from the server's own counters roughly every half hour so we can run the service and size capacity.
- Your Blocking choices, if you use Blocking: which categories are on for a device and any sites you named yourself.
- Identifiers from Stripe for your customer and subscription records if you buy on the website, so your account can be matched to your payments.
- App Store purchase information if you subscribe in the iOS app: the product bought, the subscription and original-transaction identifiers, its status and expiry, and an account token that ties the purchase to your Peeryn account. We use these only to verify the purchase, provide the device allowance, restore it, and respond to renewals, cancellations and refunds.
- Google Play purchase information if you subscribe in the Android app: the product and plan bought, the purchase and order identifiers, its status and expiry, and an account token that ties the purchase to your Peeryn account. We use these only to verify the purchase, provide the device allowance, restore it, and respond to renewals, cancellations and refunds.
- Referral and company records, if you use them: your referral code, who signed up through your link, amounts owed and paid; or your company's name, its members' email addresses and their roles.
3. Your DNS lookups, and Blocking
This section exists because the honest answer is longer than one line.
On some of our servers we run the name lookups ourselves. That is what lets Blocking take effect the moment you switch it on, rather than after you reinstall anything. A lookup arrives, the server decides whether it is on one of your blocked lists, answers or passes it on, and forgets it. We do not record the names you look up, we do not keep a history of them, and they are never sent back to us.
We do keep one thing: a count of how often each popular domain is asked for, added up across all our servers. It exists so we can see which services people want and where to put the next server. It is a tally, nothing more, no device and no account is recorded against a name, no times are kept, and none of it is written to disk, so it is lost whenever a server restarts. It cannot be narrowed to a person, by us or by anyone who asks us, because it never records who asked.
If you use Blocking, we also count how many lookups were refused for each of your devices, so the dashboard can tell you it is doing something. A number per device and nothing else, never which sites, never when. It is held in memory on the server and lost whenever that server restarts.
Lookups we pass on go to Cloudflare's public resolver at 1.1.1.1, which sees them as coming from our server rather than from you. Their handling is covered by their own policy.
4. What we do not have
- Your card, Apple Account, or Google Play payment details. Website card payments go to Stripe, App Store payments go to Apple, and Google Play payments go to Google. Those payment details never reach us.
- A record of the sites you visit or the things you do online. We count how much data a device moved, never where it went.
- Your DNS history. As above.
- Your IP address at sign-in. We do not record it.
- Any identity document, real name or phone number. We never collect them, so we cannot be asked to hand them over.
We are not claiming to be blind. A VPN server necessarily carries your traffic while it is carrying it, and the same is true of anyone who runs one. What we are telling you is what is written down and kept, which is the part that can be handed to somebody else later.
5. Who else handles your information
We use other companies to run the service. Each one only sees what it needs.
- Stripe, payments, subscriptions and invoices. They hold your payment details for website purchases; we hold their reference to you.
- Apple, Sign in with Apple and iOS App Store subscriptions. Apple handles the purchase and gives us the identity and subscription information described in sections 1 and 2. Apple's handling of data is governed by its own privacy policy.
- Google, Sign in with Google and Google Play subscriptions on Android. Google handles the purchase and gives us the identity and subscription information described in sections 1 and 2. Google's handling of data is governed by its own privacy policy.
- Cloudflare, this website, the dashboard, our database, and the encrypted connections to our servers. Most of what is listed in section 2 is stored on Cloudflare's infrastructure, and their public resolver answers the lookups we pass on.
- Resend, which sends through Amazon SES, sign-in links and account email. They see your email address and the message.
- Server hosts, the companies whose machines our VPN servers run on. They provide the hardware and network; they have no account of yours.
- Google Fonts, the typefaces on this website and the dashboard load from Google, so your browser contacts Google when a page loads. Nothing about your account is sent; Google sees the request itself.
We do not sell, use, or disclose to third parties any record of your VPN traffic or browsing activity for any purpose. We do not create such a record. Routing packets to the destinations you request, and forwarding DNS lookups as section 3 describes, are necessary to provide the connection; neither creates a retained history. We do not use any information for advertising, and there are no advertising or third-party analytics trackers in the iOS app, the Android app, on this site, or in the dashboard. The service providers above process only the account, payment, email, infrastructure, and DNS information necessary for the roles described here.
We require those providers to use the information only to provide their stated service to us and to protect it to the same or an equivalent standard as this policy.
6. How long we keep things
While your subscription is running, we keep what section 2 describes. If a payment fails we keep your device records during suspension, so that paying restores the configurations you already have instead of making you set every device up again.
When a subscription ends, the device records and addresses for it are deleted and the addresses go back into the pool. Your account and email remain until you ask us to delete them. Stripe and App Store transaction records, and referral records, are kept as long as we need them for fraud prevention, tax and accounting, which is generally seven years where the law requires it.
7. What you can ask for
Write to legal@peeryn.com from the address on your account and you can ask us to:
- tell you what we hold about you;
- correct it;
- delete your account and the records tied to it, other than what we must keep for tax and accounting;
- send you a copy of it.
Depending on where you live you may have these rights by law; we offer them to everyone regardless. We will answer within 30 days. You can also delete your account yourself, from the account screen in any of our apps — iPhone, iPad, Mac or Android. How to delete your account sets out where the button is, exactly what goes, and what tax law makes us keep. Deleting a Peeryn account does not cancel a subscription billed by Apple or Google; that has to be cancelled in the store that charges you.
8. Legal requests
If we are served with a valid, binding legal demand we will comply with it, and we can only ever produce what we actually hold, which is the list in section 2. We will tell you about a demand concerning your account unless we are prohibited from doing so.
9. Cookies
This website sets no cookies. The dashboard keeps a sign-in token in your browser's own storage so you are not asked to sign in on every page, and, if you have just generated a configuration, holds it until you close the tab. Both are cleared when you sign out or close the browser. Neither is used to follow you anywhere.
10. Children
The service is not for children. We do not knowingly hold information about anyone under 16. If you believe we do, write to us and we will delete it.
11. Where your information is
We are a United States company, and our providers store information in the United States and other countries. Using the service means your information is handled in those places.
12. Changes
If we change how we handle your information we will update this page and change the date at the top. If a change is significant we will email you about it before it takes effect.
