# delete your account
Delete your account
Last updated 11 September 2026.
You can delete your Peeryn account yourself, from inside the app, without asking anyone. This page says where the button is, what deletion actually removes, what the law makes us keep, and how to ask us to do it if you cannot reach the app.
Delete it yourself, in the app
On iPhone, iPad and Mac: open the account button at the top of the screen, scroll to the bottom, and choose Delete my account. On Android: the same place, the account button, then Delete my account. You are asked to confirm once, and then it is done.
You do not need to cancel anything first, and you do not need to contact us.
Ask us instead
If you have lost access to the app or to your email address, write to privacy@peeryn.com from any address and tell us the email address the account uses. We will ask you to confirm something only you would know about the account — a city you hold, or when you signed up — because deleting an account on the word of whoever sent an email would be worse than making you wait a day.
We answer within 7 days and complete the deletion within 30 days.
Delete only some of your data
You do not have to delete the whole account to remove something specific:
- Remove a device yourself, any time, from the Locations screen in the app. That deletes that device's public key and its tunnel address immediately, on the server and on the node itself, without touching the rest of your account.
- Ask us to delete or correct anything else — a city you no longer use, a person's Blocking profile, a referral record — by writing to privacy@peeryn.com from your account's address and telling us what to remove. We answer within 7 days and complete a request within 30 days, the same timeline as a full deletion.
What is kept afterward is the same as what a full account deletion cannot remove: billing records required by tax law, kept 7 years, and the fact of an abuse suspension if one occurred. Both are described just below. Nothing else survives a request once we have acted on it.
What deletion removes
- Your account and the email address on it.
- Every city on your plan, and every device registered against it.
- Your blocking rules — categories, named sites, exceptions, safe search, bedtimes.
- The public keys of your devices, and their tunnel addresses, which return to the pool.
- Your passkeys, and the link between your account and Sign in with Apple or Google.
Your devices' peers are removed from the servers themselves, not only from our database, so a config that was on your phone stops working rather than lingering on a node. We never held the private keys — those are generated on your devices and never leave them — so there is nothing of that kind for us to delete.
We do not store the sites you visited, so there is no browsing history to remove. That is described in the privacy policy, and it is a property of how the service is built rather than a promise about our filing.
What has to stay, and for how long
Two things outlive the account, and both are required of us rather than useful to us:
- Billing records. Invoices and the record that a payment happened are kept for 7 years, because tax law requires it. They name an amount and a date, not what you did with the service.
- Abuse records. If an account was suspended for abuse, we keep the fact of the suspension so the same person cannot immediately sign up again.
Your subscription is separate
A subscription bought through the App Store or Google Play is billed by Apple or Google, and deleting your Peeryn account does not cancel it. We cannot cancel it for you; nobody but you and the store can. Cancel it in Settings › your name › Subscriptions on an Apple device, or in Play Store › Payments and subscriptions on Android. The app says this on the deletion screen too, because being charged for a service you have deleted is exactly the surprise nobody forgives.
A subscription billed by card on peeryn.com ends when the account does.
